Hello! I’m Dr. Lilja M. Jónsdóttir, assistant professor emerita at the University of Iceland's Faculty of Education and Pedagogy. With a Ph.D. from the University of Iceland, an M.Ed. in Holistic Education from the University of Toronto, and a B.Ed. from the Iceland University of Education, my expertise lies in general pedagogy, teacher education, and the teaching of social studies.

I have 25 years of experience teaching at the compulsory school level, with a focus on democratic classrooms, project-based learning, and creativity. I’ve authored handbooks for teachers on these topics and have extensive experience leading professional development courses for teachers across Iceland. I’m passionate about supporting teachers and fostering innovative classroom practices that prioritize student engagement and curriculum integration.
